Welcome, my name is Paul and my passion is working with kids, teens, and young adults seeking to better their lives, gain hope and soar above life's challenges. I began my career in mental health in (2005) working with underprivileged kids and youth from inner cities and urban communities. Upon becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in 2018, my work includes reaching those in my community that are often under-served and skeptical about seeking professional help.
I believe: every individual has strengths and resources to make change.
I believe: our youth desire a safe space to be heard and valued.
I believe in: being realistic , practical and solution-focused as I subscribe to CBT, SFBT, and Motivational Interviewing treatment modalities.
I believe therapy works best:
When you and your therapist are invested in making change
When you and your counselor meet consistently and
When you do the work
Lastly,
I believe that change is possible...
When self awareness is acquired
When we eliminate negative self talk/doubt
When we acknowledge help is needed
In addition to being a prominent therapist: Paul enjoys staying active by playing basketball, weight training and playing softball. Paul also shares an enthusiasm for traveling with his lovely wife, attending live sporting events, music concerts, and black tie events.
Paul received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Sports & Exercise management from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, and received his Master's from Grand Canyon University in Professional Mental Health Counseling in (2018).
